our course

The Los Angeles OMS Review Course helps prepare Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for the Oral Certifying Exam. The course is held each year in September to motivate participants to initiate their studies early. A partner discount is also meant to motivate those who register to study together as they prepare.

This is not just a course, but a study club. The Los Angeles Review Course hosts weekly mock exams from September through February via Zoom.

Finally, a 150 page study-guide, comprised of 20 mock cases, is provided to all registrants.

2026 Course Speakers

  • Michael Miloro DMD, MD, FACS

    Daniel M. Laskin Professor and Head of Department at UIC, Editor of “Peterson’s” and “Complications”, Section Editor of JOMS, and a Diplomate and past Examiner of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Miloro is a world-renowned expect on Orthognathic Surgery, TMJ, and Trigeminal Nerve Injuries.

  • Benjamin Palla DMD, MD

    Owner and partner at Westside Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Santa Monica, a reviewer for JOMS with over 20 peer-reviewed publications, and a recent Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

  • Thomas Schlieve DDS, MD, FACS

    Program Director at Parkland Memorial Hospital, and fellowship-trained in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery. Dr. Schlieve is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and has international recognition for his treatment o oral cancer, MRONJ, and salivary gland disorders.
