About
our course
The Los Angeles OMS Review Course helps prepare Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for the Oral Certifying Exam. The course is held each year in September to motivate participants to initiate their studies early. A partner discount is also meant to motivate those who register to study together as they prepare.
The course is held on Saturday from 7AM to 5PM, and covers 8 topics in a mock-exam format. Those who register will receive all course material, including a comprehensive guide with 20 practice cases.
Our course also helps host weekly review sessions via Zoom.

Payam Afzali DDS, MD
Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA, with fellowship training in both Head & Neck microvascular surgery as well as pediatric craniomaxillofacial surgery. Dr. Afzali is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Michael Miloro DMD, MD, FACS
Daniel M. Laskin Professor and Head of Department at UIC, Editor of “Peterson’s” and “Complications”, Section Editor of JOMS, and a Diplomate and past Examiner of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Miloro is a world-renowned expect on Orthognathic Surgery, TMJ, and Trigeminal Nerve Injuries.

Benjamin Palla DMD, MD
Owner and partner at Westside Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Santa Monica, a reviewer for JOMS with over 20 peer-reviewed publications, a recent Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Sebastian Graca DMD
Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a specific interest in orthognathic surgery, trauma and zygomatic implants. Dr. Graca received a 99th percentile on both the OMSITE and the OCE in 2025.

Steven Licht DDS
A Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with broad-scope training, currently practicing in the Pittsburgh area. Dr. Licht has a specific interest in head and neck infections.
